The Self, Authenticity and Bad Faith

This session examines the status of the self and the existential problem of authenticity.

We’ll explore the idea that the self isn’t something we are, but something we do—a project we’re always in the middle of—and ask what authenticity could mean if that’s the case.

We’ll examine whether bad faith is a useful concept to help us approach the question of authenticity.
