Determined: Life Without Free Will (reading group meeting #1)

Details
Do humans have free will? What is the free will/determinism debate actually about? And what kinds of evidence/arguments could help us determine if we do have free will or not?
In Determined: Life Without Free Will Stanford University Biology Professor Robert Sapolsky argues that we do not have free will, however he also contends that such a conclusion does need lead us to nihilism.
If you are interested in exploring themes from his new book be sure to get a copy of the book in advance of our first meeting and read the first few chapters (I will update precisely on which chapters to cover in a few months once I have a copy of the book).
Here is an interview with Sapolsky on his new book:

Hope to see some of you there.
Cheers,
Colin
