Prison Abolition

Debate topic: should we abolish prisons? And if so, what could replace them in terms fulfilling the function of deterrence, rehabilitation and retribution for criminal wrongdoing?

To add to an atmospheric theme of this topic we will meet at a different location than our usual outside spot: bring a lawn chair and head to Portsmouth Olympic Harbour, We will be sitting against the outside wall of the Kingston pen (weather permitting). If it rains we will head inside the Portsmouth tavern. Hope to see some of you there. I have set the limit at 10 people but if there is lots of interest I will add a repeat event for the waiting list folks.
