Repeated event, so those on the Monday wait list or regular list can be added to this one. Cheers

Dear Philosophers,

'Tis the giving season!

I have booked us a room in the Bracken Health Sciences Library (room 123 on the ground floor) at Queen's University to discuss altruism and egoism. A topic befitting of the holiday season!

Here are a few videos to help us formulate some topics and questions we can debate and discuss:

Peter Singer's drowning child in a pond argument for helping with global poverty: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9EHnUsV1J2M&t=2s

Short interview with Singer on the same topic: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wMb26ryjDuU

And a video entitled "How to know if you're selfish (and whether or not that's bad)" - Mark Hopwood

Psychological Egoism in the "Good Place" TV show (fun if you know the show)

Hope to see some of you there! And please note no food or drinks are allowed in the library, except for a water bottle.

Cheers,
Colin
