Growth Through Hobbies
Details
What are your hobbies? A hobby is a regular practice you do outside of work. It might be yoga, meditation, learning a new language, sports, etc. Something you find genuine pleasure doing and it also helps you grow and develop as a human being (e.g. physically, emotionally, intellectually, etc.)
Perhaps you like to start of a new hobby but have struggled to do so? Come along to this meetup to discuss how hobbies can help us grow.

In this TedX talk (link above) the speaker took up the hobby of learning how to fly an airplane! She recommends trying a hobby that does the following:
#1. Choose a hobby with stakes/challenge, it requires your attention/focus.
#2. Choose something you can get better at… progress is the engine of growth.
#3. Choose something where the idea of shortcuts won’t cross your mind.
#4. Choose something that can expand who you are.
#5. Choose something you can do at all ages (over a lifetime)
Please be sure to bring a lawn chair, we will be sitting under a tree just past the sheltered area where the bathrooms are located.
I hope to see some of you there!
Cheers,
Colin
