What we’re about
Many of us run our lives in auto-pilot mode – without pausing to critically examine our choices and discover what our core values and desires are. As Socrates aptly puts it, we are guilty of “sleepwalking through our lives”.
At The Philosophy of Life, we make philosophy practical, simple and fun for all Singaporeans to learn.
[Why learn philosophy?]
Through the lens of philosophy, we uncover new perspectives that make our lives more meaningful and enriching. Imagine developing for yourself an organised means to address pressing questions such as: What is happiness? Is our reality real or are we living in an illusion? How do we best express love and compassion to those around us?
[Which philosophy are we focusing on?]
We will be anchoring our ideas based on the philosophy of Objectivism, pioneered by the late Ayn Rand, who has authored many books still widely read and discussed till today. Objectivism is a philosophy that emphasises discovering truth through reason, rational self-interest and constructing a society based on the principle of fair and free exchange.
