Winter Walk and Lake Reflections at Lough Eske

About the Event
Join us for a calm winter walk around Lough Eske, one of Donegal’s most peaceful spots. The lake sits beneath the Bluestack Mountains and often has perfect still reflections this time of year.

This will be an easy-paced photo walk with short trails, lakeside views, and woodland paths. The winter light is soft and ideal for capturing contrast and reflections on the water. The route is roughly 3 km, mostly flat and sheltered.

After the walk, we’ll stop for a warm drink at the Harvey’s Point Lounge or another nearby café.

• Experimenting with exposure and minimal light

• Camera or phone
• Tripod (optional for reflection shots)
• Warm, waterproof clothing
• Comfortable shoes or boots
• Drink and snack

Meeting Point
Meet at Lough Eske car park at 11:00 am. We’ll start by 11:15 am and finish around 2:00 pm, wrapping up with a hot drink nearby.

The event will go ahead unless weather conditions are unsafe. Calm or cloudy days are ideal for this one.
