Forest Light at Hazelwood, Sligo
Details
About the Event
This outing focuses on woodland photography and late-autumn light. Hazelwood Forest is just outside Sligo Town and offers a gentle trail through beech, oak, and birch woodland with open views across Lough Gill. The forest paths are easy underfoot, and the soft light at this time of year works perfectly for forest composition and detail shots.
We’ll take the main 4 km loop at an easy pace, stopping along the way for photos of the lake, trees, and changing light. There are plenty of spots for experimenting with depth, texture, and framing.
If the weather turns, the canopy gives decent cover, so this one works well even in light rain. After the walk, we’ll stop for coffee in Sligo Town (Lola Montez Café or nearby).
