Elgin Area Camera Club - March 10, 2026 Program: Stock Photography in Chicago
By Bruce Leighty

Stock Photography in Chicago

While it has been a few years since my last presentation at the Elgin Camera Club, I plan on a continuation of my last presentation which focused mainly on stock photography at that time. A good deal has changed since that presentation, so my view is to highlight the changes in stock photography (mirrorless vs. DSLR, editorial vs. commercial work and the dynamic changes in stock, etc.), what are the latest trends and attempts to use my experiences to extract the most financial return available given the present economy and marketplace. I frequently use Chicago as a venue for my photography, so we’ll cover local opportunities.
