Continuing our early February event to gather reusable/repurposable /recyclable items from a 10 acre vacated homeless encampment where the residents were offered resources and alternative living arrangements. Many items have been claimed, donated or otherwise pressed back into service already! But there's plenty more. Whatever items we don't remove will end up in the landfill in March. The owners are being compelled to clean up the property (hiring a contractor) after complaints were made to City of Raleigh Code Enforcement.

Total attendance for this event is capped at 25 and is tallied with our sister group, Pick o' the Litter, where registrations are also being accepted. Newcomers are encouraged. Since this site will have sharps and other hazardous material, minimum age is 15. Youth 15-17 must be accompanied by a parent.

We provide all supplies: sleds & tarps to haul items out; grabbers, bags, and gloves (but encourage you to use your own work gloves if you own some); water bottles if you don't have your own and snacks. Wear sturdy shoes, and dress in layers for this crazy Carolina weather.

Each volunteer (adult and child) must complete our All Future Events Waiver. If you have already done so for a previous event, then you don't need to do so again unless your contact information changes.
