The Gold Bug

Bring up the subject of precious metals at any libertarian gathering and you will likely discover that at least half the people own gold, and all of them are experts on the right time to buy gold, and why the economic collapse is right around the corner so you better get gold now or you will regret it. And when the economy looks like it is slowing down or heading into a depression, they will be even more insistent that you buy gold if you don't want to eat dog food for the rest of your short, miserable life.

Is gold a barbarous relic, or is it the only reliable and consistent counter to inflation, fiat money and the machinations of the evil banksters? Ultimately you must answer this question for yourself, but if you are a newbie to buying precious metals, or if you are an expert and want to show us all how it is done, come on over and enlighten us!

And yeah, I also think you should buy some gold. Along with guns, ammo, and toilet paper of course.
