This is a first intro meetup online to say hello, get a feel for the group, and have a light discussion around a short pop-psychology article.

This is meant to be easy, welcoming, and exploratory — no prep beyond reading the article (if you can), and no pressure to speak more than you want to.

### 📰 What We’ll Read (Optional but Encouraged)

We’ll loosely anchor our conversation around this Psychology Today article:
“Pop Pathology: The Modern Obsession With Diagnosis”
The article looks at how clinical language and diagnostic labels have entered everyday culture — especially through social media — and what we might gain and lose when we rely on “therapy speak” to explain human behaviour.

### 💬 What We Might Talk About

I’ll bring a few guiding questions, but this won’t be rigid or academic. Sample questions include:
Big-Picture / Culture

  • Where do you notice “therapy speak” or diagnostic labels showing up most in pop culture or social media?
  • Why do you think this language has become so widespread right now?

### 🧘🏽‍♀️ Format & Logistics

  • Approx. 45 minutes
  • Come as you are
  • This is a low-commitment, first-touch gathering
