We will meet at 28128 Pacific Coast Highway at the corner of Paradise Cove Road with P.C.H. (approx. 1 mile South of Kanan Dume Road) at 12:00 PM There is plenty of free parking on Pacific Coast Highway, but be careful not to park in the sometimes confusing No Parking Zones. If you wish to park at the Paradise Cove Cafe, parking is $40 per car for 4 hours and they claim a $20 per person fee for walk ins which has never been enforced. Paradise Cove Beach info www.paradisecovemalibu.com & Point Dume State Beach info www.parks.ca.gov/?page_id=623 Sorry, but NO dogs allowed on this hike.

We will start at Paradise Cove Beach and walk North along the very scenic beach to Point Dume State Beach. Along the way we will stop to explore the many tide pools, enjoy the amazing views, and if we are lucky...even spot a whale or 2 from the bluffs above Point Dume. At Point Dume State Beach we can explore the hidden coves, watch the rock climbers, or enjoy a nice swim before we start our return hike to Paradise Cove. There will be toilets and showers both at Paradise Cove Beach and Point Dume Beach. Feel free to bring a lunch with you to enjoy on the hike, or stay and eat at Paradise Cove Cafe at the end of the hike.

This beginner level hike will be approx. 4 miles long r/t and take about 4 hours with all the stops. Going barefoot is fine for the beach walk, but also have some shoes or sandals because we will be walking over some rocks and climbing some rather rusted out stairs. There was drinking water at both Paradise Cove Beach and Point Dume Beach last time I was there, but bring enough drinking water to last the duration of the hike just in case.

Known dangers include sun burn, sharp rocks, slip & falls on the cliff trail and on wet rocks, sea urchins in some tide pools, and the rare possibility of rattle snakes on the bluffs.

RAIN will cancel this hike.

There will also be a FREE concert at Warner Center Park starting at 6:00 PM featuring The Marshall Tucker Band. The address is 5800 Topanga Canyon Rd. (between Burbank Blvd. & Erwin St.) in Woodland Hills, CA 91364 info at www.valleycultural.org Parking is available at the parking structure next to Warner Center Park for $10 or FREE parking at the mall or side streets a couple of blocks away. We can meet next to the White Tent housing the sound board about 50 feet away from the stage for those who aren't too tired from our day at the beach.
