Hump Day Hike on China Flat Trail

This hike is only 3.1 miles long, but it is intermediate because of the elevation gain. However, it's on the easy side of intermediate and even if you are slow, you should enjoy this hike. Try to arrive ON TIME, as I want to leave AT 6:30, so we can enjoy the sunset at the top.

You will be rewarded with wonderful, sweeping views of the 101 corridor from the southern side of the Simi Hills. This is a residential neighborhood so let's try to suppress the fistfights that typically break out both before and after our hikes. You may park anywhere along the road for free.

We'll do an out-and-back hike on mostly fire road, well-maintained.

Difficulty: Easy Intermediate.

Bring a flashlight for the last part of the hike. By 7:45 it will be dark, as sunset is at 7:16 pm.

Directions: Very easy, even without GPS (which you should never trust). Take the 101 to Lindero Canyon Road, heading north. At Wembley there is a little turn-around and you can park smack on Lindero Cyn right there.

Known Dangers: Rattlesnakes, slip-'n-fall.
