Meet and Greet Potluck Hike with PM Hikers Founder Kurt Godden

This should be a very special day in PM Hiker history. As many of you already know Kurt is taking a little break from hiking because of injury and this will probably be one of the rare occasions to see him over the next few months and there's even rumors that Dr. Detroit might make a visit! We will hike then have a potluck in the Sherwood Forest or you can just come for the potluck.(See details below)

There will be two diferent hike options available (with a twist!)

Option 1; Easy hike of approx. 1-2 miles with no more than 100' of elevation gain. This option is more sight seeing stroll than hike, but if you've never been to Corriganville it is worth doing just to check the area out as this was a working movie ranch from the late 1930's thru 1960's and there are many interpretive signs along the trails. Option 2; This one is a butt burner but don't be afraid! Approx. 5.7 miles and 1350' elevation gain or however far you can hike in 1.5 hours, that's the twist. This hike will take us up thru the wildlife tunnel under the 118 freeway to Rocky Peak Fire Rd. then up towards Rocky Peak for 45 minutes then retrace our path back to the park. It is possible to make it to the top in that amount of time, but you have to average 3.8 mi/hr. Since this an out and back hike there is no chance of getting lost, so you can just hike at your own pace. (Led by Jimbo) Any questions message Jimbo!

Potluck: 3:15 p.m.

Bring your favorite food and drink to share with others and lets be creative. All food can be left in cars until after hike as potluck area is fairly close th parking area! (approx. 1/4 mi.)

Remember this is about showing our appreciation to Kurt for starting The PM Hikers and hoping he'll be back full time in the not to distant future!
