Arroyo Conejo - Lynnmere Loop

Join me on a conditioning evening hike.
This hike is a moderately strenuous 7 mile lollipop (partial loop), with a total elevation gain/loss about 1300 ft. The hike starts at the Arroyo Conejo trailhead at the east end of the parking lot for the Rancho Conejo Playfields. At the kiosk, the trail splits and we will bear to the left. A pleasant trail follows Arroyo Conejo, to the Lynnmere loop trail above Wildwood Park. Nice views of the Barranca, Hill Canyon, Newbury Park, Thousand Oaks, and Wildwood Park.
How to get there: From 101 Freeway, drive 1/4 mile north on Ventu Park Rd in Newbury Park. Turn right into the parking lot at the Rancho Conejo Playfields.
Distance: 7 miles
Elevation Gain: 1300 ft
Difficulty: Advanced Intermediate due to pace, we do not stop, we may take one break halfway through but that is it.
Dogs: No
Restrooms: Yes, at the Rancho Conejo Playfields but not during the hike
Water Fountain: No
Parking: Rancho Conejo Playfields (east end)
Trail: Lollipop (partial loop)

Weather: Rain, Wind, Extreme temperatures cancels hike
Known Dangers: Cactus, rattlesnakes, slip-'n-fall, poison oak, and mountain bikes.
Bring: Extra layer (wind breaker recommended) to take on and off as needed. Flashlight/headlamp as we may be getting back in the dark.
At least 2L of water. It is always good to bring more than you need!
Directions: From 101 (Ventura Freeway) take the Ventu Park off ramp and head north. In 1/4 mile is the Rancho Conejo Playfields. Park at the eastern section of the parking lot.
