Hike, Picnic, and Wildlife Talk at Malibu Creek State Park

You are welcome to join me at Malibu Creek State Park for a hike through the Grasslands trail, a picnic at Mott Road, and an informative talk about wildlife in the area.

The Hike
This is a moderate 3-mile, 300' elevation gain, hike at the Grasslands trail and Mott Road. We will have a picnic at the picnic tables on Mott Road. Bring food for yourself or food to share if you choose.

Meet me at 4:45pm at the park's Main Trailhead parking lot by the restrooms (it's the last parking lot before entering the campground). This will give folks a chance to find a place to park and use the restroom before starting at 5:00pm.

Parking is $12.00 per car per day, or $3.00/hour. Free if you have a state park or golden bear pass.

Wildlife Talk/Workshop
After the hike, you are invited to attend an informative talk and workshop at the Amphitheater near the campground from 7:00-8:00pm. Tonight's topic is about native wildlife in our community and what to expect when sharing our neighborhood with wild animals and pets.

**NOTE** Please don't sign up for this hike if you are in a rush or have other plans after. My hikes are casual and slower paced (1.5-2 mph), we take breaks, and we explore. I can't guarantee that we will be back at exactly the end time. Thank you.

Checklist

1. Bring your flashlights, sunset is at 7:33pm, last light is at 7:58pm
2. Bring food to eat, we'll have a picnic at the picnic tables on Mott Rd
3. Bring 2 liters of water, hat, poles if you need them, sunscreen, bug spray
4. Bring a jacket and blanket if you easily get cold
5. Bring a chair to sit on if you don't want to sit on the bleachers in the Amphitheater.

Additional Information

• Dogs are not allowed
• Restrooms are at the parking lot but not on the hike
• Known dangers: slip and fall, rattlesnakes
