Hike to Lizard Rock at Wildwood Park
Details
This is a fit beginner to moderate 3.5-mile hike with about a 400' elevation gain. Meet me at the Wildflower Playfield parking lot at 6:30. There is a restroom but I'm not sure when it is locked.
The Hike
My hikes are slow paced (1.5-2 mph) and the end time is approximate only. We take breaks, we explore, and we don't leave anyone behind. If this hike isn't for you, please find another that better suits your needs.
We will hike through the tunnel under the street to the other side, then take the Moonridge trail through the area where the old tv show, Gunsmoke, was filmed. This will lead us to the public access road adjacent to the dirt parking lot and onto the Mesa trail to Lizard Rock. There is about a 200' semi steep incline to reach lizard rock. We'll take a short break at the rock before heading down.
