This is a moderate 4-mile hike in the foothills of the Santa Susana Mountains, with an elevation gain of 650’, suitable for fit beginners.

The Hike
My hikes are slow paced (1.5-2 mph) and the end time is approximate only. We take breaks, we explore, and we don't leave anyone behind. If this hike isn't for you, please find another that best suits your needs.

Meet me at Falcon Park (see directions below) at 6:00, with a start time at 6:05.

The hike loops around the Big Sky housing development. A portion of the hike follows the creek that runs through the neighborhood. Most of the elevation gain will be at the beginning, however, there are about nine additional inclines dotted throughout. Once we reach the ridge at the top, we’ll have great views of Whiteface Mountain and surrounding mountains in all directions.

The hike will be cancelled if:

  • Hot weather, high winds, rain, or fire
