“Living with Rattlesnakes: What Ventura County Residents Need to Know”
Details
The Conejo Open Space Foundation is offering a presentation on the questions and concerns for hikers, homeowners, pet owners, and anyone spending time outdoors. I encourage you to attend due to the increase of snake activity in Ventura County, with at least seven rattlesnake bites that have been reported since March, including a fatal incident.
Topics will include:
- Why encounters may be increasing this year
- What to do if you see a rattlesnake
- How to reduce attractants around your home
- Safety tips for hikers, families, and pets
- Common myths and misconceptions
- The ecological role of rattlesnakes in our local environment
