Halloween costume fun hike - Stone House/Witch's Castle and Pittock Mansion

Annual event... 2025 will be the 5th year in a roll ...
The date and time might be adjusted based on the weather.

Roughly 5 miles out and back. We'll start from Pittock Mansion, going down to Cornel Rd, then continue to Lower McLeay park, then come back. Pretty much reverse the direction but it is this trail: https://www.alltrails.com/trail/us/oregon/lower-macleay-park-to-pittock-mansion (the hike leader will decide onsite if shorten the route, so we can come back to Pittock Mansion for the nice sunset view).

Free event but suggested donation $1 is appreciated (you can bring cash or do Venmo). Your donations will help to make Portland Hiking Group exist and thrive. ($5 good for a year. $20 good for lifetime).

What to Wear or bring:
1. Headlamp just in case
2. Sturdy hiking shoes
3. Poles if you have
4. Rain jacket (check on weather closely)
5. Water, light snack
5. Wear or bring Costume for group pics at the view point, the bridge and the Witch's Castle.

P.S. 1. Plan ahead... for adult female costume, if someone can get this, it will be fun for sure: butterfly . I will be a hippy witch, as always.
2. for whoever up to, we can go to a restaurant for dinner afterwards (and make it a Halloween party). Please suggest where to go if you are into this option.
3. you can pay to park on the top. Alternatively, you can park at either of the 2 free parking lots just before you reach the top, on your right hand side. if you choose to do this, arrive 5 minute earlier, so you have time to walk the short distance up.
