Breitenbush Hot Springs and hike thru burned forest from 2020 Labor Day Fires

Join us for one of Oregon's best hot springs at Breitenbush Resort. You will need to pay for your own day pass ($35 + $14 if you want lunch from the resort)

Once Breitenbush day passes sell out for Monday we will not be able to take other hikers. This is a clothing optional resort so be forewarned and not shocked. 😳

Sometime that day, I will lead an optional hike down to the Breitenbush River and look at the old, free and "secret" hot springs pools, built into concrete building foundations.

About half of the buildings at Breitenbush burned during the Labor Day fires in September 2020 and the resort was closed for over 2 years, so we are lucky to have this treasured hot springs destination still available. A few hot springs, like Austin, are no longer available since 2020. Optional hike distance: 1-2 miles
Elevation gain: ~200 ft
Difficulty: moderate, due to river crossing
Total soaking + hike time: 8 hours
Travel: 2 hours one-way from carpool point
Fees: $35 Day Pass + $14 lunch
Carpool Riders: $15 cash (required)

CARPOOLING: We will organize carpooling at Gateway Transit Center parking garage at 8:00 am. Make sure to arrive on time or preferably few minutes earlier for prompt departure. Or you can meet us at the resort at 10:00 am. Carpool riders must pay $15 to the driver or hike leader to offset the cost of gas (over 200 mile round-trip distance).

• Sturdy hiking boots/shoes
• snacks, water (vegetarian lunch available at resort for $14)
• $15 cash per carpool rider
• Backpack
• Swimsuit (optional)
• Flip flops or sandals
• Towel

I reserve the right to remove anyone from the hike based on their attendance record, incomplete profile, or if you were not a good fit with my group based on your presence on previous hikes.

• If you are on the going list, and decide to cancel, please change your RSVP to "Not going" ASAP. Canceling after 8 pm on the day before the hike will result in a no-show on your record.
