Wild Edible Mushroom and Plant Hunting Day Trip
Details
Incredibly a search of past events in the Portland Hiking Meetup Group revealed no mushroom hunting/hike events... so I created one.
I'm a decent mushroom hunter and know a specific "hunting ground" for golden chanterelles in the Gifford Pinchot National Forest and in the area of our campsite. If other mushroom hunters have not picked the field clear then I can guarantee we'll find some. The mushroom "patch" is a very steep hill, so it requires good fitness and willingness to crash through brush and get dirty.

AWD vehicle recommended. The last 200 yards of road are very rocky requiring high clearance.

We will meet at Breakfast at Valerie's in Vancouver at 10am Saturday for a quick coffee or bite to go and will coordinate carpooling then. Carpool riders must pay $10 cash for the RT ride.
