Wild Edible Mushroom Hunting Trip

I know a specific "hunting ground" for golden chanterelles in the Tillamook State Forest. If other mushroom hunters have not picked the area clear then I can guarantee we'll find some there. Mushroom hunting requires good fitness and willingness to push through brush around trees and getting wet in the rain.
We could get wet going through brush with possible rain, and it will be mid 50s deg F. Wear warm layers, rain coats and waterproof pants help. Bring a change of socks and shoes.
*** Warning: there are people shooting at a rock quarry in this area but I know where they shoot and they will not be shooting our direction. We will be safe but it may get loud. It is a good practice to wear bright red, orange or yellow colors to be easily seen in the woods. ***
CARPOOLING: We will meet at the Target Store by the Tesla chargers at 10am Friday. My goal is to take up to 8 people in 2 cars. Carpool riders must pay $10 for the RT ride. Venmo me before the event (preferred) and I will pay each carpool driver $20 for gas.
What to bring:
- carpool riders: $10 Venmo/cash
- durable water-resistant shoes w/ good tread for off-trail/mud
- pants, warm layers
- change of socks and shoes
- rain gear
- trail snacks/water
- mushroom brush (paintbrush)
- small knife (curved edge)
- gardening gloves
- reusable grocery/mushroom bag
- clear safety goggles
- first aid pack
- safety whistle or air horn
- Anything else you want to share with others
Donations: A suggested donation of $10-$20 would be appreciated. I put much effort into planning and safely conducting this hunt. Also I share "secret" chanterelle spots and all of my experience finding, identifying, cleaning and cooking mushrooms safely. Thank you!
