Greetings fellow hikers, walkers, explorers and other adventure minded folk. Let's head out to Astoria for the day and see what we can get ourselves into. We will be strolling down the boardwalk along the Columbia River, we will stop at a coffee shop for refreshments, we will visit a couple of museums and we will have some lunch at a brewpub before heading back to Portland. Sound fun? Yes it does!

We will meet at Blue Scorcher Bakery and Cafe at 10 am for some great coffee and snacks. We will then walk over to the Astoria Nordic Heritage Park. Here we can learn about the Nordic heritage of the area. We then stroll along the boardwalk, down to Maritime Memorial Park right under the Astoria Bridge. Next, we visit the Flavel House Museum. This home is an extremely well preserved example of Queen Anne architecture. After this, we will probably be ready to eat. We could go to Breakside Brewing or maybe Fort George Brewing. For anyone wanting a bit more adventure, we can go to the Heritage Museum and learn more about the history of the town and the area. From there we head home.
