Dog Mountain Hike July 4th - Meet@trailhead at 11am - carpool@Vancouver
Details
Celebrate the 4th of July by climbing Dog Mountain together!
Meet at the trailead 10:50-11am.
Things to bring:
1. Hiking shoes are a must. Loose stones on trail at close to the top. Need to have enough grip at bottom of your shoes.
2. Hiking poles are highly recommended . Helps to allocate your body weight away from your knees and help you to balance yourself on the way down just in case you step on a loose stone.
3. Headlamp just in case.
4. Light and easy to digest snacks such as an apple or sea salt crackers. you don't want a full meal, because your blood would all go to your stomach to help to digest the food and you end of feeling tired.
5. Water! No creek on this trail. So you need to bring enough for yourself. At least one 30 oz bottle.
6. Sunscreen, hat, sunglasses.
7. Dress in layers: non-cotton short or long sleep top (cotton can trap sweat inside), rain jacket, if not for rain, on top of the mountain it is sometimes windy and cold. Check the weather in the morning.
Cell signal available in most sections of the trail.
