Let's go on a hike out in the Columbia Gorge and see what we can see! I would like to hike about 10 miles round trip, this will get us to Slide Creek Falls. This trail gains a bit of elevation from the trailhead as it makes its way over to Herman Creek. The trail then follows along the creek for most of the hike. We will have the sound of moving water close by most of the time. Pretty relaxing. The elevation overall is maybe around 1900 feet.
We will meet at Gateway Transit Center for carpooling. We will then head to Herman Creek Trailhead to begin our hike. If you would rather meet at the traihead, please be there no later than 9am. You will need a parking pass, you can get a day pass for $5, or purchase an annual NW Forest Pass beforehand, an America the Beautiful Pass also works. We will hike about 5 miles to the Slide Creek Falls and then take a break. We can turn around here, or continue on a bit more if we are adventurous and energetic enough.
Please bring appropriate footwear, some layers of clothing, including a rain jacket, water, snacks and lunch. We can go out for food and drinks afterward for those interested.
