Pack your summer backpack and come on out for a simple exercise hike to get ready for the summer backpackin season. Wildwood trail is pretty easy, improved and a nearly level zig-zag down and up from creekbeds in Forest Park. We'll hike from Newberry Road to Germantown and back.

Please read all of the instructions below so that we all know the plan. Luck favors the prepared.

Elevation Gain: 1,112 feet
Pace: 2.5 mph
Hike Time: 4 hr (+/-)
Rating: Moderate-faster pace

Parking Fee: None

Time-line:
11:00am Meet at TH
3:00pm Complete hike
4:00pm Post-hike beer/food at McMenamins Rock Creek Tavern (optional)

Carpool: Meet at TH or message to carpool from another area. I'm in the Beaverton area.

Packing List:

  • Water (at least 0.5 liter)
  • Hiking shoes, good tread
  • Snacks
  • Backpack w/ 1st aid kit (gauze, ace bandages, etc.)
  • Light-weight clothing
  • Anything you want to share with others

Clothing: It will be warm so bring cool, light-weight gear. Cotton is cool šŸ˜Ž There is no such thing as bad weather only bad gear--I think REI taught me that.

If you are on the going list, and decide to cancel, please change your RSVP to "Not going" ASAP. If you sign up but do not show up you will be marked as a "no-show". Please don't take a spot from someone else and then not go.
