THIS IS A NEW GROUP!! We started October 21st, 2016
This group is for serious beginner-level-Japanese speakers who have some basic understanding of the Japanese language (grammar, etc.), but aren't quite at the level to have extended conversations.
We're mostly focused on casual talk. We don't "teach" Japanese. You're expected to be either taking basic Japanese classes or seriously studying on your own. This group is a great place to practice what you are learning!
If you are conversant in Japanese (minimum 1-year of formal language training or equivelent), we recommend the Portland Japanese Language Exchange MeetUp Group. If you are interested in Japanese culture, we recommend the NW Portland Japanese Language and Culture Club Group.

初級日本語レベルの方と会話をしましょう。このグループでは土曜日のカレーのmeetup にはまだ日本語のレベルが充分ではない人たちをメンバーとしています。英語を勉強したい日本人の方、是非メンバーになってください。日本語や日本の文化を英語でわかりやすく教えることは、英語力の向上に役立ちますよ。
