In our Sixties+, it is fascinating to keep 'in the know’ with what others are thinking, being aware of new ideas which are being explored and in our ever changing world, understanding future innovation & design.

I choose a TED talk relevant to our interest, we watch it in advance then join me and others to discuss the topic - which, could evolve to be an in-depth session, a learning for us all or simply an enjoyable get together of inquisitive minds!

This month's topic is: How We Got Hooked on Credit Cards
https://www.ted.com/talks/nidhi_upadhyaya_how_we_got_hooked_on
_credit_cards
Today, credit cards are a $500 billion-a-year industry. Banks consider these lines of credit when deciding whether or not to approve loans, incentivizing customers to maintain multiple credit cards. So, how did this lending system originate? And how did they get to be so popular?

We will then move on to discuss how we choose to pay for things, iPhone Apps, how many bank cards to we use, the Banks we trust and a lot more! Accountants & bank managers most welcome!!

Watch this BEFORE our meeting and if time allows, stay for lunch. $5 for non members, cash on the day. Coffee & tea provided.

Cheers Chris
