The Presence Gathering 🍂
An autumn evening inspired by Eckhart Tolle’s The Power of Now
What would it feel like to meet other people without first needing to establish who we are?
What do you do? Where do you work? What have you achieved? What is your story?
These are natural ways we get to know one another. But for this gathering, I’d like to experiment with something different.
Just being here. Together.
We’ll meet in the park, sit together on blankets and mats, share some food, experience a little silence and explore presence together.
We’ll begin simply — your name, perhaps where you come from, and what brought you here. No need to introduce yourself through your profession, accomplishments, roles or status.
We’ll spend some time becoming quiet together and explore an idea inspired by The Power of Now. Afterwards, there will be space for sharing and conversation — not to debate, advise or impress one another, but to listen and speak with attention.
And silence is welcome. We don’t have to fill every moment with conversation.
🍂 A small autumn picnic
I’ll bring a large mat and create a cozy space for us. Please bring something small to eat or drink that we can put in the middle and share together.
Bring something warm to wear as the evening gets cooler, and feel free to bring your own blanket or cushion.
As the evening gets darker, we’ll have some candlelight and simply enjoy being outside together.
This first gathering will be kept small — around 8–10 people — and is intended primarily for people around 35–50.
You don’t need to have read The Power of Now or be an experienced meditator. An interest in presence and a willingness to slow down for an evening is enough.
17:00–19:30
Come as you are.
You don’t need to explain who you are.
