About Product Academy
AI is changing every job. Entire roles are disappearing. And most people are watching it happen without a clear sense of what to do next.
Here's what I keep coming back to: as the cost of building software approaches zero, the most valuable skill left is knowing what to build, why to build it, and whether it's worth building at all.
That's product management. And it's going to matter more in the next five years than it ever has.

What we do
Every week, we run free events to help you skill up and learn the craft of product management.
We bring in speakers who have made the transition themselves -- people who can talk honestly about how they did it and what they wish they knew earlier.
No polished keynotes. Real stories from people who have been where you are.
You walk away with free tools and access to a free 10-module PM course taught by Dave at productacademy.io -- no email, no paywall, just the content.
We also run a cohort-based course on Maven, a Substack newsletter, and weekly live teaching sessions online.

Who teaches here
I'm Dave Wang, founder of Product Academy.
I've taught product management at General Assembly, Melbourne Business School, and Harvard Innovation Labs. I've coached career transitioners -- engineers, designers, business analysts, and people who just knew they wanted to build products -- for nearly a decade, with hundreds of successful outcomes across Australia, the US, and beyond.

Why I built this
When anyone can ship code with a prompt, the bottleneck stops being execution. It becomes judgment. Strategy.
The ability to talk to customers, understand a market, prioritise ruthlessly, and make a case for the right direction.
We don't know what the job title looks like in five years.
But the craft underneath it -- product thinking -- is not going anywhere. It's becoming the thing every company needs more of, not less.
Most PM education skips that foundation. It drops you into frameworks and tools without building the judgment underneath.
That's the gap Product Academy exists to close.
The barrier to learning this craft shouldn't be access to good teaching. It should just be whether you're willing to do the work.

Who should join
If you're transitioning into product from engineering, design, data, business analysis, or any other field -- this is for you.
You don't need prior PM experience. You just need the right foundation.
Come to the events. Ask questions. Learn the craft.
