COURSE STARTING 18th SEPTEMBER: Women Chess Beginners Beautiful Checkmates!

This is a five week, live, interactive online chess course for beginner women, taught by women, at 5:30pm UK time every Wednesday, STARTING 18TH SEPTEMBER. It will be EASY and it will be FUN - you can enjoy everything we will learn, with any IQ or experience level. :) There are also five optional assisted practice sessions, video catch up and written notes.

Each lesson is designed to work on its own, so don't worry if you will miss any - plus, there's video catch up and written notes too. You'll be joining a supportive community of friendly women.

This course is designed for women who only know how the pieces move, up to intermediate level.

We will be looking at how to checkmate with the different combinations of chess pieces, looking at up to thirty lovely checkmating patterns, in fun, interactive lessons which will keep you involved and engaged.
You will improve your chess knowledge and skill, and have a lot of fun along the way. The more checkmating patterns you can recognise, including less common ones, the more checkmates you can give (and avoid).

You don't need a chess board, or anything other than an internet connection and a computer, laptop or tablet (a phone is okay, but perhaps a bit small). By the end, you will have increased your confidence, had fun, made friends and improved your game! :)

Every week there will be a chance to practice with other women at your level, during and after the lesson, and get tips specific to your game. You'll learn in a supportive, interactive environment, where you can ask questions, get individual attention and supervised practice.
Zoom recordings of lessons will be available afterwards, in case you miss a class or would like to review any topic.

There will be a weekly online teacher-assisted practice session for attendees of these courses (no additional charge). You will also be able to invite other women in the group to play and chat online.

ALL OR MOST OF THE PROCEEDS FROM RUNNING THIS COURSE WILL GO TO SUPPORT INITIATIVES AIMED AT BRINGING MORE WOMEN INTO CHESS, AND MAKING CHESS WOMAN-FRIENDLY. Our eventual aim is for women to be half of all chess players. We celebrate diversity in all its forms.
