Welcome to the Miami, FL InvestHER Chapter! This group has been created to help women real estate investors local to Miami meet, connect, and learn together and from one another!
MEET THE INVESTHER LEADERS
Julie Potts is a San Diego, CA native who relocated to South Florida in 2017 before a three-year stint living, working, and traveling around the world on superyachts. In her early career, Julie worked as a CPA at a Big 4 firm where she had many REIT clients, before switching to corporate finance and working for a large land developer, where her interest in real estate grew. After spending three years traveling internationally for work, the 2020 pandemic inspired Julie to seek alternate income streams and wealth-building methods. An episode of Bigger Pockets inspired her to purchase a tri-plex in Miami in late 2020, which she is successfully house-hacking while renting one unit to long-term tenants, one unit to travel nurses, all while living for free in the third unit and generating positive cash flow from the first two units. As a CPA-turned-real-estate-investor, Julie is passionate about learning tax-saving strategies and sharing her findings with others. She now works remotely doing corporate finance and business intelligence development for a large national multifamily developer. She is looking forward to continuing to learn and grow while inspiring others to do the same.
