World of Confusion

Amidst seemingly endless wars and destruction, is it worth discussing minor issues such as which toiletries to avoid or which supermarkets offer the best options? Is it possible to reconcile our own personal goals and aspirations with a world in tatters?
These questions could be, I reckon, a good starting point to put major issues with such a far reaching effect on the table.
No, we aren't going to change the world in 90 minutes but al least we'll be able to meet like-minded people and, hopefully, reach a few conclusions.
