Welcome to The Rebel Pebbles!
We’re a friendly community of go enthusiasts who gather every Tuesday evening at 19:00 at The Hyde Out to share our love of this beautiful ancient game.
What’s our goal?
Our mission is simple: to enjoy and share the joy of playing go while building a vibrant community here in Cork. Whether you’re curious about go or have been playing for years, we want to create a welcoming space where everyone can learn, improve, and connect over the board.
Who are we hoping to meet?
Everyone! We welcome complete beginners who’ve never seen a go board, casual players looking for regular games, and experienced players seeking worthy opponents. Our members range from 30 kyu to 3 dan, so you’ll find players at every level.
What will we do at our events?
For newcomers, we offer comprehensive lessons covering everything from the basic rules to tsumego (go problems), opening strategies, and how to develop your reading and thinking skills. Experienced players can enjoy challenging games and discuss strategy. We keep things relaxed and social—we even bring vegan cookies to share!
Come join us for an evening of contemplation, competition, and community. All skill levels genuinely welcome!
