Lake Katherine Botanic Garden Hike/Lunch

Lake Katherine Botanic Gardens is a beautiful 85-acre park that includes woodlands, prairie, wetlands, gardens and a 10-acre lake.
We will visit the water falls, herb and butterfly gardens and walk the one mile loop wood chip path around the lake.
Expect to see wild-life and many species of plants. There's also sculptures and a Beaver lodge.
The nature center features a menagerie of reptiles, animals and interesting books and exhibits .
Optional lunch at Mama Vesuvio's East, 6361 W College Dr, 60463 Palos Heights after the park visit.
The park is about a 1/2 hour drive from Hammond. Carpool will leave Hammond at 11:20am.
