ROUNDERS POKER CHARTER

CHARTER of ROUNDERS POKER
This document defines our organization

Rounders Poker is a private non-profit social networking group.

Our purpose is to develop and maintain a community of friends and family who enjoy playing cards together. Low stakes recreational games is our focus and our primary goal is to keep the games going.

Rounders Poker is not a gaming organization. We do not manage, control, or regulate any gaming elements related to money or donations.

All home games are independently conceived, arranged, and hosted by private persons and conducted in private residences or property. Hosts are asked to operate in full compliance with California State laws. However, Rounders Poker does not have the ability or authority to monitor or regulate these elements within the private property of others. Additionally, Rounders Poker does not have the resources to monitor and regulate every game nor review every game description before they are posted. All questions regarding these elements should be directed to the hosts.

Rounders Poker does not and never used or recognized another meetup poker group’s term “SVD” (Suggested Voluntary Donation) a term that implies organizational rules for donations, and is not used here because we do not suggest anything and have no organizational rules for donations. In Rounders Poker, it is simple, donation means donation, which is not suggested, monitored, or regulated by the group or its group Organizer.

We do not host unlicensed for profit venues that are gaming operations (private "card rooms"). Rounders Poker has no influence, authority, or affiliation with these games and does not sanction or approve of these games. Members who choose to play in these privately run operations do so at their own risk. If known, games hosted by private, for profit, card rooms will be removed from the website.

In regards to home games, members who object to a specific home game should contact the rounders host (please be nice) and voice your objections or --simply do not go, and tell your friends not to go. Your attendance or lack of, may induce change. Members should also act with a sense of social responsibility for the good of the group and join others in avoiding games with dubious practices or unreasonable donation requests. By design, the group does not enforce this because it is simply not possible without paid staff. Vote with your feet. Avoiding sketchy games also shows your appreciation for our good hosts who do not take advantage of the people in our group.

In summary, Rounders Poker does not regulate money or donations because Rounders Poker is not, and does not want to be, a gaming organization. Even if we wanted to we do not have staff to monitor and regulate the games. All games are "home games" where the host operates in compliance with the California Penal Code.

Rounders Poker manages only the website content and group membership.

Rounders Poker is a web and real-life community, we provide a free game listing service with a on-going web presence maintained and funded by out-of-pocket donations by the founder. The founder and Advisory Panel members are unpaid volunteers, membership is provided for free therefore demands for service from unpaid volunteers is not rational.

In an environment that often does not endure Rounders Poker is currently in our 10th year which is a credit to the people in our group who understand they have choices and appreciate the opportunity to exercise those choices. Everyone understands this and is the reason for our success.

Thank you to all our members and organizers.

Any questions regarding our Charter should be directed to me I am always available for an open, responsible, and rational dialog.

Thank you,
Scotty Wayne
