The San Diego Beginning Birders

Rob and I host this small, friendly group on the 1st Saturday of every month to help introduce newcomers to our favorite pastime ~ birding! The class is designed for first-timers and binoculars are available for loan. It's migration and some beauties like Lazuli Buntings may have arrived for the summer! We'll spend 2 hours walking an easy trail with a restroom and water fountain available.

This is a very easy 1 mile walk out and 1 mile back discovering the birds along the Garrison Creek and the open spaces. Wear comfortable shoes, a hat & bring water. At this time of year we should see Yelliw-breasted Chats, Black-headed and Blue Grosbeaks, woodpeckers, towhees, California Thrashers, all kinds of Raptors. Some marsh birds are always a possibility.Directions: From the intersection of El Camino Real and Oceanside Blvd., go east on Oceanside Blvd., turn left (north) into the first gate. Park to the left.
From the East: take the El Camino exit from the 78. Turn right. At Oceanside Blvd (down the big hill and after RR tracks) turn right and get into left lane immediately. The driveway is the first left on Oceanside Blvd.
