IN-PERSON Uninstructed @SundayFigureArtSeattle AFTERNOONS
Details
This series was started decades ago at the University of Washington School of Art #uwsoa304. From March 2020-January 2023, we tried online but mostly went on hiatus. From January 15, 2023-January 4, 2026 we held sessions at Artist & Craftsman Supple Seattle! As of January 11, 2026 we moved back to UW Campus Room 304.
STARTING MARCH 1, 2026, we'll have:
* MORNINGS on UW Campus Room 304 and
* AFTERNOONS at Artist & Craftsman Supply Seattle!
Feel free to arrive at 2:45pm!
The session will start promptly at 3:00pm.
CAN YOU JUST SHOW UP??
Yep. 20 is the capacity of the room, though when we held morning sessions at the store, we usually had a more comfortable 10-12 artists (occasionally 17-19). We’ve never had to turn anyone away, so far.
18+ or parental chaperone required.
Now that we'll have MORNINGS on UW Campus and an added AFTERNOONS as of March 1, 2026...I'm uncertain how that will affect our attendance numbers.
COFFEE/SNACKS
We provide coffee + snacks for $2 + free refills
ROOM NOTES/FURNITURE/SUPPLIES
This cement basement room is a bit smaller than our UW Campus room and can get quite cold in colder seasons (which can be nice for warmer seasons).
There are chairs, and some horses and irregular-sized boards. If you prefer easels please feel free to bring your own. There are some easels but they belong to another group and the ones we are allowed to borrow may not be desirable. We try not to use tables so as to fit as many artists in the room as want to participate.
Please DO bring your own paper + pens/pencils/paints (though no gamsol or stinky stuff, please!) Digital art is fine too...just make sure you cover any cameras with tape out of respect to the nude model.

During breaks, guests can choose to share work with each other if they wish. Community is a big reason to join us!

PARKING
Parking is provided for up to 2 free hours in the lot across the street by using the QR code at the door and entering your license plate number. Any parking beyond the free 2 hour period must be paid or moved to street parking. A&C is not responsible for any parking tickets incurred while in the store.
Street parking is mostly free in surrounding blocks, but can be extremely difficult to find.
If you ride a bike, you might want to bring it into the classroom because bike theft rate is pretty high in the area.
