Let’s Read For Fun: Book Lovers by Emily Henry
Details
Hey Funners -
We are rom-com embracing the hearts and chocolate holiday vibe of February by selecting Book Lovers by Emily Henry. Love 'em or hate 'em, the annoying someone who turns into the interesting someone is a classic storyline, and Emily Henry creates likeable characters who know they're a trope and can't stop themselves.
From Goodreads:
"Nora Stephens’ life is books—she’s read them all (as a cutthroat literary agent) —and she is not that type of heroine. Not the plucky one, not the laidback dream girl, and especially not the sweetheart."
During a sisters' trip to Sunshine Falls, North Carolina, Nora finds herself in the midst of her sister's interpretation of 'Nora becoming the heroine of her own story.' Cue editor Charlie Lastra, who is no stranger to the story line and has never been the hero. Thrown together repeatedly, Nora and Charlie find their personal character descriptions being edited through partner filters.
"In a series of coincidences no editor worth their salt would allow—what they discover might just unravel the carefully crafted stories they’ve written about themselves."
As always, you don’t have to finish the book to participate, but there will likely be spoilers (there always are).
The RSVP policy is in place for this event to respect the venue's space. Please update your status by 6 p.m. the day before the event so we can notify any wait listers. See you all there!
