Hey Funners -
April's book takes us to the combustible world of Lilian Breaker in Nothing to See Here by Kevin Wilson. This meeting will be in-person, at a location TBD (shout out any location suggestions in your rsvp and we'll look into them).

The novel asks and answers the burning questions:

Q: Is spontaneous combustion a liability or a superpower?

Q: What if you and your twin are a 10-year olds with that power.

Q: What if you're the babysitter of the twins with the power?

Q: How do you keep flammable children calm and the fires dampened?

Lilian is said babysitter, lured to the job by her former school roommate Madison, the children's stepmother. Dad and stepmom are rich and politically ambitious, who somehow feel having children who can literally flame out in public could be career busters. So Lilian is tasked not only with taking care of the kids, and also with keeping them publicly invisible.

Luckily for the kids, Bessie and Roland, Lilian understands being different and connects with them with her own "weirdness". The unfolding story is a darkly humored telling of gaining acceptance and found family.

As always, you don’t have to finish reading the book to participate, but there will be spoilers so please don't explode.
