Risk Taking: Seoul Honesty Online #30

Details
Hello friends,
Welcome to 2022! After a long break due to COVID, the Seoul Honesty Group returns in an online format. We're planning to stick with Skype and the current format for now. It's completely free, and you can find instructions below on how to join the discussion.
Topic
This week's topic is risk-taking. Are you more of a risk-taker or a risk-averse person? Are there things that feel like everyday actions to you that others would perceive as risky, or vice versa? Do you feel that your willingness to take risks has changed as you got older or because of some other life experiences?
What is the value of taking risks? What kind of risks are worth it and which ones are not? How do we tell the difference? How does our brain evaluate risks, and why does this process differ from person to person?
(I couldn't find any good videos on this topic, but feel free to find your own to watch for some ideas)
(Don't be confused by the first minute! Feel free to skip to 1:10, especially if you're not a native speaker. It's quite a powerful talk but not easy to understand)

How to Join
- Download Skype (available for PC, Android and IOS) and create an account
- At the time the meeting starts, click 'Meet Now' in Skype
- Click 'Join a Meeting'
- Paste the link or code above into the meeting link/code box (it will only be shown to you when you RSVP)
For the sake of making the meeting smoother, please also test your microphone/webcam in advance to make sure everything is working, and try to be in a quiet place without too much background noise.
FAQ
Q. Do I still have to RSVP on Meetup?
A. Yes. Skype allows group calls of up 25 people, and we are currently experimenting with not capping the signups, but please RSVP on Meetup as well so we know how many people to expect.
Q. Do I need a webcam?
A. Yes. If there's a specific reason why you can't turn your camera on for a certain meeting then that's okay, but we are trying to create an atmosphere that is as similar to offline meetups as possible, so we expect all participants to be visible.
Q. What format will the meeting follow?
A. After a short introduction, the meeting will be held as a free and open discussion on the topic, with an opportunity at the end to give feedback to other members through Final Impressions. Check out the 'About' section on Meetup for more information on what to expect.
Q. Can I make an audio or video recording of the meeting?
A. No. Just like our offline meetings, we follow the principle 'What happens in Honesty Group, stays in Honesty Group.' Sharing personal details heard in a meeting with outsiders or attempting to make any audio or video recording of a meeting is grounds for removal from the group.
Q. Can I join even if I'm not located in Seoul?
A. Yes. The name of the group may be the same, but the advantage of an online format is that people from anywhere around the world can join. Some aspects of the discussion may be Korea-focused, but we're open to anyone in principle.
Q. Is there anything I should prepare?
A. Nothing specific. It's a good idea to read through the discussion question before coming though, and some members like to jot down thoughts on a notepad before or during the meeting.
If you have any questions or have trouble signing up or joining, please send a message to Martin through Meetup or on KakaoTalk: baimading101
