What we’re about
I started this small group because I know what it feels like to be tired—not of Jesus, but of seeing His name used to hurt, divide, and shame. I’ve felt the weight of watching fellow believers speak with cruelty instead of compassion, and I know how lonely it can feel when your faith doesn’t seem to fit in the places it used to.
This group is for people like us—those who still believe, or want to believe, but are weary. We’re here to encourage each other, to sit with the hard questions, and to remind one another that the heart of Christ is still good. That love is still the way.
The Shelter is a judgment-free space. That means we affirm LGBTQ+ folks, we believe Black lives matter and that systemic racism still affects our world today, and we stand for women’s rights and agency. We don’t see these as political issues—they’re human ones, and deeply connected to the kind of justice, mercy, and love Jesus calls us into.
You don’t have to have all the answers to come. You don’t have to feel strong in your faith. You can come with doubt, with grief, with questions. You’re safe here.
This is just a space to breathe again. To rest. To remember that you’re not alone. And to reconnect with a faith that heals instead of harms.
