Details

Sisters, we've volunteered and done fundraising for the Women's Center here in Raleigh several times before (as well as our volunteer efforts at the Men's Center). I've received an email with the above subject line. I will post some of the body below. Honestly, I won't currently be able to take lead in hosting a volunteer event for the center, but if someone else wishes to grab this one, I will be happy to co-host/be a hands-on helper. And now that many of us are out and about again, this may be a good time for us to pick up our monthly volunteer ops again.

PLEASE RSVP IF YOU'RE INTERESTED IN ATTENDING WITH THE GROUP, even if you won't be organizing/hosting!

From the center:

Dear Friends and Partners,

I feel it is important for me to let you know that volunteer engagement decreases significantly over the summer months at The Women's Center. For this reason it is critical that I make our need known to the community today!

  • Volunteers Contribute to WC's Relevancy & Vibrancy
  • Volunteers Help Us Serve Over 3,500 Meals Per Month
  • Volunteers Host Enrichment Classes & Workshops
  • Volunteers Empower Our Women
  • Volunteers at WCUF Assist in Growing Organic Farm to Table Produce
  • Volunteers Are a Huge Reason Break the Cycle Bike Ride Event is Such A Success

Last month The Women's Center provided over 3,500 meals to women in need of services, programming, healing, and transformation. WC provided 359 showers, & washed 156 loads of laundry. Serving the most vulnerable among us is a privilege and responsibility. I cannot stress enough that your partnership makes a huge difference everyday!

I am urgently asking for your help today, as The Women's Center is in need of volunteers that are able to provide meals, assist in sorting donations, host enrichment classes such as: art, music, ballet, yoga, self defense, Bible studies, or book clubs, etc. Please volunteer with us at The Women's Center Urban Farm! Without you we would not be able to meet the demands of this growing population.

To learn more about volunteer opportunities please reach out to (the volunteer coordinator -- I'll provide her direct phone and email info to whoever may choose to take lead on an event).
