What we’re about
Did you know that in 2021 nearly 70% of American adults reported consuming alcohol, or that in 2016 the alcohol industry spent 2.3 billion dollars on advertising and marketing in the U.S. alone? Alcohol, which, has been called a "ritualistic superfood," is so prevalent in our society that if you make the decision to stop drinking you're met with questions of why, peer pressure, or stigmas.
That's why I created this group - for anyone who wants to not feel so alone in their decision to break with social convention and be a non-drinker. Others are also on board with this sober movement, with only 54% of Americans in 2025 (a record low) reporting that they consume alcohol. So whether you are sober-curious, working through addiction, questioning the role of alcohol in your life, keeping up with sobriety, or just don't care for alcohol, this is the place for you.
This group will look to hold social gatherings without the pressures of doing so under the influence of alcohol. It could be anything from happy hour, to sporting events, to yoga, to book studies, to cooking class. The idea is to explore new (or old) hobbies and meet new friends while avoiding alcohol as a social crutch. So if you're looking to have fun and make new friends, sans alcohol, this is the group for you.

Snacks, Sips, and Sports
Location not specified yetJoin me for an early dinner at The Rustic downtown, followed by a live basketball game at Toyota Center, as the Rockets take on the Washington Wizards.
The menu for The Rustic can be found here. It includes select bites at happy hour prices, a full menu, and a "free spirit" alcohol free menu.
After dinner, we can walk over to Toyota Center to check out a live basketball game. Tickets on Stub Hub are going for as low as $8. I will be sitting in section 114, row 24, but you can sit in any area, and we can meet up intermittently throughout the game or at the end.
I'll update details prior to the date of the event. Let me know if you have any questions, and hope to see you there!
