The Importance of Voting and Volunteering

Hey all,

I wanted to hold an event about the importance of voting and volunteering; the best ways to make our voices heard on November 6th.

I think the upcoming election is one of the most consequential midterm elections in our nation's history. And I want to do whatever I can to motivate folks to get involved. Maybe one way we could do that is through sharing our personal stories about volunteering with each other? I recently volunteered in a competitive district. It was only a short drive, but I found the experience incredibly rewarding.

What are some other ways we can engage our fellow citizens (especially those living in swing districts) before election day? I can't wait to hear your ideas.

I'd also like to dedicate a part of this Meetup, let's say the first twenty minutes, specifically to voter registration and how we can get ALL our fellow Americans registered to vote. First, are you registered to vote? If you aren't registered, you can find out how to register here: https://www.vote.org/. Second, what are some other ways we can get folks registered to vote? I'd like to think this through with you all.

There's lots up in the air in our country right now. What I know for sure is, if we can get folks as motivated as we are about volunteering and actually voting on election day, then we will have done our civic duty and made a big difference.
