About us

Being a good software developer isn't just about writing good code.

Technical skills are important, but they are only one part of having a successful and fulfilling career in software development. How we think, how we handle challenges, how we work with ourselves and others, and how we navigate the ups and downs of our careers can have just as much impact on how we experience our work.

The Soft Side of Software Development is a space to talk about that side of being a developer.

We'll explore topics such as mindset, self-talk, managing pressure, dealing with uncertainty, comparison, motivation, boundaries, feedback, difficult conversations, workplace dynamics, personal growth, and the many other human challenges that come with working in tech.

Some sessions will have a topic or a short presentation to get us started. Others may be more discussion-based. The goal is not to have all the answers, but to share experiences, perspectives, and ideas with other people who understand what it's like to work in software.

Come with your own experiences, questions, and perspectives.

This isn't a lecture. It's a conversation.
