Flashmob Meditation

Details

Join us for a 15 minute heart meditation in the Market Square. Everyone is welcome.

Similar events across the globe have focused on issues such as peace, social justice and the environment.

Now it’s our turn Hitchin! Let’s feel the love! Lets plug into the universal heartbeat! Let’s raise the vibration in our location!

You do not have to be an experienced meditator. You can just sit quietly, think about the people and issues that matter most to you and simply feel into your heart.

You might wish to focus on:

  • a particular person or people going through a difficult time
  • the health and wellbeing of our community, both local and global
  • the protection and recovery of the natural world
  • your own wellbeing
  • spiritual rebellion, the part of us that wants to rise up and be free

Here's how it works:

  • Arrive in plenty of time to find somewhere to sit or stand. You could bring a mat or cushion if you wish
  • Set a silent timer for 15 minutes
  • At 11am, either do your own heart meditation practice, listen to a guided meditation or simply sit quietly. Suggested guided meditations will be posted on this page nearer the date.
  • Afterwards, you may wish to stay seated for a while and sense into the atmosphere. Or you could just disappear into the crowd. Or you might like to chat with fellow meditators.
  • If the weather is bad or if you do not wish to be in the main location, you could go to a local cafe and sit quietly with a drink and simply sense into your heart. Or do it at home. It all counts.

Here is a video of a large flashmob that took place in Trafalgar Square for World Peace Day. https://youtu.be/mqZA5cToPgs

Spiritual Rebellion aims to be global movement inviting each of us to turn towards our own personal and spiritual growth as a powerful personal response to political and climate crisis and individual suffering.

The Big Soul Work Project organises Flashmob Meditation events and Shared Intention Weekends that are free and open to all.
