Beyond High Strangeness: UFO Evidence and the Unseen World

Shane Hurd returns to Quantum Portals for a fascinating follow-up conversation that moves beyond the traditional “nuts and bolts” approach to UFO investigation. As a seasoned MUFON Field Investigator, Star Team member, Experiencer Resource Team member, and Assistant State Director for Arizona MUFON, Shane brings years of grounded investigative experience to the table. His background in civil engineering, GIS, information technology, and government service has shaped the practical, evidence-based lens through which he has studied UFO and UAP reports for many years.
But in this episode, Shane takes us into deeper and more mysterious territory. Working closely with his investigative partner Josh Rutledge, Shane has begun exploring the more esoteric, intuitive, and “high strangeness” dimensions of UFO and alien encounters — the kinds of cases that often fall outside the standard MUFON framework. Through personal experiences, field observations, video footage, photographs, and compelling case material, Shane will share how his understanding of the phenomenon has expanded beyond craft, sightings, and physical evidence into the profound and often unexplained “woo” side of contact and anomalous experience.
This conversation invites listeners to consider a bigger question: What happens when a trained investigator follows the evidence wherever it leads — even when it leads into the mystical, the psychic, the spiritual, and the deeply unknown? Shane’s unique perspective offers a rare bridge between scientific inquiry and the strange, consciousness-based dimensions of the UFO phenomenon.
